Google is deploying a powerful new AI-driven feature to its productivity suite, designed to automate one of the most time-consuming office tasks. A new function in Gemini Canvas can now read any document or report and instantly build a complete, professionally designed Google Slides presentation from it.
The tool is built for efficiency. It intelligently parses your text, whether it’s a simple outline or a multi-page report, and constructs a logical slide deck. This includes generating all titles, creating section breaks, and sourcing relevant visuals, all while applying a clean, consistent theme.
This update is a significant leap for Google’s AI ambitions. It moves Gemini beyond being just a writing assistant and recasts it as a true productivity partner, capable of handling complex formatting and design tasks across different applications.
Once generated, the presentation is not final. Users have the full capability to export the AI-created deck directly into Google Slides. From there, they can make any necessary adjustments, add personal touches, or collaborate with team members.
This feature is rolling out globally now to all users, including those with personal Google accounts and those on a Workspace plan. Early access appears to be prioritized for Gemini Advanced (Pro) subscribers, with a wider release for free users expected soon.
