Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel sent a message of hope and resilience to India following the tragic blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. In a statement addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Netanyahu vowed that “the light of our nations will outshine the darkness of our enemies,” offering a powerful rebuke to the perpetrators of the attack.

The explosion on Monday evening killed at least eight people and left several others wounded. Netanyahu, offering condolences on behalf of Israel, expressed his deep sorrow for the victims. “Sara and I… send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands strong with you,” he said.

Netanyahu’s message strongly emphasized the shared character of the two nations. He described India and Israel as “ancient civilisations” that are “united by shared values.” He declared that despite such attacks, the core spirit of the nations remains untouched. “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he affirmed.

This message of support was echoed by Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar. In a separate statement, Saar extended his “deepest condolences to the People of India” and reaffirmed that “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror,” wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured in the blast.

Indian authorities are moving swiftly to investigate the attack. The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), citing a terror angle. The NIA has registered a case and is probing the involvement of a Jaish-e-Mohammad module in the car blast.
