Meta has introduced a new line of AI-powered wearables, including camera-free smart glasses aimed at addressing privacy concerns associated with wearable technology. These audio-only glasses will be available from October 13, with a starting price of $349. Unlike Meta’s previous smart glasses, this new model omits cameras for taking photos or recording videos, a move that directly responds to ongoing privacy discussions.

The company emphasized that privacy remains a priority, citing features like a visible recording indicator on its camera-equipped models. In addition to the camera-free option, Meta unveiled new smart glasses featuring display capabilities. Priced from $799, these display glasses are set to reach additional international markets soon.

Meta is also gearing up for the launch of its lighter mixed-reality glasses, which will utilize an external battery and memory pack. This device is slated for release in spring 2027, with prices starting at $1,299. These developments are part of Meta’s broader strategy to integrate advanced technology into everyday consumer products.

Further expanding its AI offerings, Meta introduced Muse, an AI-powered personal assistant. Muse is designed to perform tasks such as booking appointments, making calls, and connecting users with various services. Both the AI glasses and Muse are key components of Meta’s overarching consumer AI strategy, reflecting the company’s commitment to enhancing user experience through innovative technology.
